Truth Alive

Truth ALive (which is like vacation Bible School) has been so much fun.We have played loads of cool games and had great snacks, lol. In the beginning I really didn't want to go, but I am happy that I went. All week long I have been working towards the goal of memorizing more Bible verses than anyone else! ANd I did! It took 155 verses, and a lot of hard work. I won first place in the Bible memorization!!! I was so happy. I am the first girl to have ever won this contest! ANd what is even cooler is that I also won the grand prize for the person with the most points all week that I had no idea about. It was a real surprise to me.Apparently everyone expected this guy named Dusty to win(he wins every year), so the prizes were kindageared toward boys(which is kinda sexist if you ask me!!!)FOr the verses I memorized I recieved a baseball cap, and for having the most points got a nice Bible that all the evangelists signed and with a note from Pastor Kramer inside(he is the Youth Pastor). It was a lot of fun, and now I am sad that truth alive is over.Snif. Oh well. I have to go get ready to go to the beach now. Adios Muchachos.

Naval aviation Museum

Today, my family and I minus my Dad, cuz he is back in France, went to Perdido Key's naval aviation museum, which is actually on the navy base there. It is about a half an hour away from my house. With us was Horace, who is a friend of Josh's. It is a really cool museum, especially for the great factor that it is FREE(if it's free, it's for me, right John?). Anyway, it is a really neat museum. There are a lot of planes hanging form the museum roof, and there is an exhibit in which you can climb in all kinds of cockpits from helicopters and planes. We saw an exhibit on the space program, which I really liked, and we walked thru a imitation village of the wwII era. It was really neat. Then we drove to this playground(I didn;t wanto to go, but hought that it would be fun for the boys). The neat thing about this playground was that it had a mist machine. I got pretty wet. I am really tired now so that it is for tonight.

National Treasure 2 !!!

I cannot believe that they are making a National Treasure 2! I relly enjoyed the first one( I really love History, it is my favorite class ). It is going to be about Abe Lincoln's death.I personally think it is a bit of a gruesome thing to have a movie about, but aparently hollywood thinkd that it will work . I hope that it will be a cool movie cuz if it is not, it will kinda reflect poorly on the first movie, like Lilo and stitch 2. I also found the official poster for high School Musical 2( which I sooo cannot wiat to see!The picsa are form the first movie, and the guy in the tux is onme of the actors at the movie premier.

Which Star Wars Characters I am

ok, so I got really bored, and I took some personality quizzes to see whck star wars people I am. It was kinda fun!
Quiz 1
Openess
High scorers tend to be original, creative, curious, complex; Low scorers tend to be conventional, down to earth, narrow interests, uncreative.
Your percentile: 88% You enjoy having novel experiences and seeing things in new ways.Yoda -- This wise, philosophical, and thoughtful Jedi master challenges the establishment, encouraging his pupils to unlearn what they have learned and see the world in novel, creative ways.
Organization
High scorers tend to be reliable, well-organized, self-disciplined, careful; Low scorers tend to be disorganized.
Your percentile: 35% You tend to do things somewhat haphazardly.Admiral Ozzel -- A generally conscientious soldier who is susceptible to occasional lapses & blunders, such as the mistake he made at the beginning of the imperial assault on the rebel base at Hoth.
Extraversion
High scorers tend to be sociable, friendly, fun loving, talkative; Low scorers tend to be introverted, reserved, inhibited, quiet.
Your percentile: 53% You are neither particularly social or reserved.Ewoks -- A species with extraverted and introverted tendencies. On one hand they are a shy, timid, and reclusive species. On the other hand, they are very sociable, living in groups, placing great emphasis of interpersonal relations.
Agreeableness
High scorers tend to be good natured, sympathetic, forgiving, courteous; Low scorers tend to be critical, rude, harsh, callous.
Your percentile: 69% You tend to consider the feelings of others.Qui-Gon Jinn -- This Jedi master is loyal, sensitive, and sympathetic.
Quiz 2
You are Padme You try to be a good person, but your boyfriend doesn't.(Like I have one?)At least you look great.

Quiz 3
Yoda
Dynamite in a small package, and long-lasting, like the Energizer bunny. While you are wise and calm, you are able to call on your killer instincts . Some may call you a ‘sleeper’. With such great power comes some arrogance, but you are quick to return to humility and fix your mistakes. You have certainly left your mark on the world, in good ways, and it was kinda sad to see you go. But no need to worry, you have gained immortality even though you can’t wield your toothpick of a lightsabre anymore.

Quiz 4
You scored 50% airiness, 36% squishiness, and 47% edginess!
Han Solo is down-to-earth and improvisational, cool-headed and cynical. Appeals to emotion rarely sway him, but as he matured throughout the saga, he let his less-well-developed compassionate side show occasionally.
Personality quizzes are kinda stupid, but if you can't think of anything else to do, by all means go ahead and do 'em!
Solo is, in a word, cool.
I don't think these quizzes were too accurate, because I didn't get the same results on all of them. Still, I wouldn't mind being any of these, especially Padme or Yoda. He is cool. I think that I could really connect with Yoda. We are both short! I everyone knows that I just think that Han Solo is just the greatest smuggler that Star Wars ever had!!!!!

I am going to camp!!!!!!!!

I am so excited because on July 9th I will be going to speach and drama camp for 2 weeks. It is gonna be sooo cool! I can hardly wait.

The article says that Speach/drama camp focuses on the basics of performance techniques, and the proper use of public speaking. Each day begins with vocal production exercises and continues with study in performance areas from poetry to readers theater and in technical aspects from costume design to sound. Students will be exposed to production practices and the backstage processes involved in a production.
Participants are encouraged to bring one or two memorized readings for workshops with the instructional staff. Auditions for the play and readers theaters will be held on the camp’s opening day.
Something ExtraDuring the course of the two-week camp, the students will prepare a short religious play which will be performed on July 20, along with several readers theaters, staged in the College’s Experimental Theater. Parents are invited to dinner and the Catch the Spirit presentation prior to the evening performances.
Instructional StaffSpeech/Drama Camp will feature experienced PCC speech faculty. Each faculty member holds a degree in speech or theater and teaches in the Speech Department of PCC. You’ll gain practical, hands-on experience from these faculty in areas such as oral interpretation, acting, costuming and make-up, storytelling, and scenic design.

Where I go to church

Pastor Jackson
Pastor Jackson, Mrs. Jackson, David, Regan , and I can't remeber the other litlle girl's name.
The crowne center
different angle of the crowne center
The entrance gate

Usually, church is held in the crowne center, where all of these pictures are taken. It is a huge room. There are soo many people that we have to watch Pastor Jackson on a huge screen or else the pople in the back and on the balcony will not be able to see him. The crowne center itself is enormous. WHen you walk in for ther first time it just amazes you. You look up three stories at all the stained glass(which is incidentally, how people know if you are visiting for the first time).AMyway, it si a really cool place to go to church, and I like it a lot, except for the dorky choir robes that we have to wear in the choir, and that you cannot sit with your legs crossed if you are in the choir , Which is really hard if you are short because me feet don't quite touch the floor and my Bible keeps sliding off my lap and it is really hard to take notes. Other than that, it is a really cool place to go to church. Pastor Jackson is a really great preacher. He puts things in a way that everyone can understand. His vision for the campus church is really , well , big. Last night he had the whole church kneeling at the altars to pray for the Campus Church and our country. It was really amazing. I never have been in a church where something like that has been done, but it should be done more often!!!!

Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day, when we take time to remember all the brave men and women who have given their lives to protect America and keep us all free. Most people think of the soldiers that fought in Korea or in the Gulf war, or the soldiers in Iraq today. But we tend to forget that without the soldiers all the way from the revolutionary war these brave warriors of today would never have had their chance to keep America free! What if the minute men had not gone to Lexington or Concord? Or what if Abraham Lincoln had just decided to let the south break away from the Union? Or what if Washington had surrendered to Cornwall because Valley Forge was just too hard? I am not saying that what the soldiers of our generation and our parents generation have done is not worth honoring, but that we cannot forget the soldiers from America's past either. And what if the Americans had not decided to fight the Kaiser? They were not fighting a war for America, they were fighting for freedom for another country. What of Marines who fall in other countries, sent by the UN to help that particular country? Are they less deserving of our thoughts today? I have a hard time thinking that memorial day is just for the American soldiers who fought for America.Memorial day is a day to honor American soldiers . All of her soldiers.

The Beach

The entrance to my fav beach
Beautiful Beach!!!!
Sea Oats, which are a part of the save the dune movement here
Sugar White Sands, and emerald green waters
An aerial view of the Beach
Since I live in Florida, I thought that it would be suitable to write an article on the "sugar white beaches" and "emerald green waters" as all the commercials for the area like to quote. I went on a google search and found lots of pictures on my favorite beach, which is apparently lots of people's favorite beach. My mom bought a pass so we like to go to the Johnson Beach which is a part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. It is an awesome beach, but there are lots of animals that you can find there, such a s beach mice, crabs, and little annoying flies that bite. Bit all in all, the beaches heree in Pensacola are really really cool!

How I was very very BRAVE

Last night, at like 1 in the morning, I heard something rattling around in the kitchen. immediately I thought"There is a prowler in the house!". My heart began to pound as I lay as still as I could in my bed. Then I began to wonder if he had a GUN ! I really didn't want this prowler to prowl around our house with a gun or hurt anyone in my family. I grabbed a small, thin stick out of my closet(it is a complicated story why I have a stick in my closet, so don't ask) and I checked the house just like Starsky and Hutch in their old tv series, flat against the wall, checking silently before doing anything wit my stick. In all honesty, the stick would not have done anything to a criminal, but if there was a robber, I didn;t want to look stupid coming out there with nothing. It turns out that there was no one n our house, that some dishes on the dish drainer moved. But if it had been a prowler, I would have been prepared.

30 Years!!!

Today, May 25, 2007, is a day that will go down in infamy.Where did I hear that before? It is the 30th anniversary of Star Wars(roar of applause in backround). It is so exciting. It is hard to believe that a series that started 30 years ago is still so wicked popular today. It is one of the top 1000 internet searches, and surprisingly,by mostly male fans. I am an exception to the whole male fan thing. SO pull up a chair, grab your remote, watch all six episodes and celebrate Star Wars 30th birthday with me!!! May the Force be with us all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lord of the Rings

I finally watched the Lord of the Rings series. For all the raving that people do about it, I really did not like it. Star wars is a lot better, because , thankfully, it is not so intense. The only parts that I really like in the movie are the when they are in the Shire and when they are in Rivendelle. My favorite characters are (in order of favor) Legolas, Pippin, Aragorn, Gandalf, Sam, Merry, Aragorn, Gimli, Arwen, Eowyn, and oh yeah, Faramir. I am currently reading the books, which I prefer to the movies, beacuse it is way less stressful. Legolas is definately the best thing about the movies. Everyone here thinks that he looks like a girl, but he so does not!!!! the sad part is, in the book, the whole romancey thingy is virtually non exisitent! Which is like such a bummer!!! And in the book, Arwen is not eh daughter of Elrond, she is the daughter of the Creepy white elf lady that creeps Frodo out with her mirror thingy. Oh yeah, Galadriel. ANd Gollum, well he just creeps me out, in the book and in the movie. I mean he does bite off Frodo's finger, and the little creep eats raw fish alive. I am not to sure what exactly to think of Frodo. I know that he is the main character and all, but I really do not like him too much. But I sure feel sorry for poor Samwise Gamgee. He is such a help to Frodo, then Frodod ditches him for Smeagol of all people! How stupid could Frodo be for Pete's sake?

My dad's visit

While my dad was here we had lots of fun. The very first day that he arrived, we went to a pizza buffet where you can eat all the pizza that you want. It is cool. We went to the mall the day after, and my dad bought us all cool presents. He got me this awesome new perfume from Bath and Body Works. I love it. It is supposed to smell like amber, so I wear it with the amber necklace the Club Ado gave me. We went to the beach, which was a lot of fun. I love the beach. My mom bought us a pass to the National Seashore Preserve or what ever it is called, and it is the most beautiful beach in the whole United States! Then my mom and I went shopping, just the two of us, while my dad watched the boys. I bought a cool pair of pyjammas that say "Boys are Stupid, Throw Rocks at Them!". Josh and Johnny do not like them very much, but, I do!I finished school May 12(I am sooooo Happy!!!!!). Next year I am gonna be a senior. Seniors RULE!!!! Josh and Johnny still have a ways to go. SO now that I have all thios free time on my hands, I am looking for a job. I filed out 25 applications, but still nothing. I need to get this job so that I can save money to go to speach and drama camp in July. And of course for college and stuff like that. I also joined the Rejoice Choir at the church here. It is a lot better than the teen choir. We are on tv every Sunday. We practice for like three hours every Sunday, so I can't go to Sunday school any more, but I like choir practice better anyway. On the downside, we ahve to wear these hiddeous turquoisy green choir robes. Oh well. My dad left the 23, and he will be staying with Jonathan and Prunelle. I really miss them and all of my friends in France.

Pirates of the Carribean III

Being the devoted fan of pirates of the carribean, I decided to post an article about the 3rd episode in this truly amazing saga!!!! Ok, that sounds a little obssesed, which I am not at all about the Pirates of the Carribean. I just saw the #2 for the first time about htree weeks ago, and I actually liked it better than the first one. I did not like the fact that they left you hanging at the end at all though. I also think that Elizabeth is so gonna end up with Jack( so WRONG!!!). Remember how she was KISSING Jack( which is also so wrong since she was engaged to William ). I mean, how can she like Jack who is so selfish and UGLY, but is rather witty, when she has Orlando BLoom who is ADORABLE !!!, and is noble and good, and well ADORABLE!!!It was cool though how Will was reunited with his father Bootstrap Bill. Ok, I want you all to vote and tell me if you think that ELizabeth will end up with Jack, and now I gotta go cuz it's thunderin out and I don't wanna fry the computer! Avast ye hardies!!!!

Miscellaneous

The beaches here are totally cool. So is the weather. today it was 83 degrees out and I went to the beach. THe waves are huge. I got knocked over by some of the bigger ones. I know what you are thinking, you are short and lotsa stuff could knock you over. Very funny. The last few times that I went to the beach I got the greatest tan, but on the downside, I got a burn. I don't think that I burned today, but it is too early to tell! The youth group here is really big. It is buigger than the whole church in Limoges. It is a little hard to get integrated because everyone here goes to the academy, but I have made some very nice friends. The church we go to (the campus church) has ever 5000 people attend every Sunday. It is incredible! I gotta go, but I just wanted to say that I will be hooking up our msn again so I'll be able to talk to y'all again.

The condo

All right so we arrive in Florida late at night and we go to Burger King for dinner after bringing all of our zillion suitcases to the condo on the 3rd floor, but thankfully there was an elevator. I love Burger King, but the best restuarant that I have been to is Taco Bell!!!! I also have been able to indulge in Ranch Dressing since I came back!!! THe condo was small but cute, and it had cable which overcomes anyother flaws that it had, lol. There are so many commercials on AMerican tv! I got to sleep on a roll away sofa for a month, but I 'm not complaining, cuz I got to stay up latter than everyone else and watch tv!!!! When I got up the next morning and look off of the balcony, I saw the Gulf of Mexico!! I saw beautiful white sand, palm trees, and the ocean!! It was so cool. Mom and dad found us a house 2 or 3 days after we got down here, but it took us like a week to clean it and a week or 2 to buy enough furniture to make it livable. One day we drove by the college and the academy, on our way to the house. It was HUGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like freaked out. It was soooo cool. This was the last place that I thought that I'd be this year. I mean I thought that I'd be in Limoges for at least another year and a half. It's kinda wierd being here; I always dreamed of coming here, but I had no Idea that my wish would be granted so very soon! From our new house, I can walk to the college library. I go very very often. All the people who give out passes to get in know me. They have a whole half a floor of Romance novels, which is like far out, lol. I really really like it here, but I really miss everyone in France!!! Yes that is a hint meaning that I'd love to hear from you all!!!

Florida

Dear everybody,
I am so sorry that it has taken me so very long to write on here, but I just got our internet connection up and working. For those of you who have not found this out yet, we are taking our furlough in Pensacola Florida. Hopefully Joshua, Johnny, and I will be attending Pemsacola Christian Academy next year for my senior year. It is very exciting. The year after that I will be attending Pensacola Christian College and taking a degree in Commercial writing in order to become a journalist. Anyway, we drove form Connecticut to Florida, and let me tell you it is not something that I would want to do again. I had to sit between Josh and Johnny for 23 hours of car time and if it had't been for my portable dvd player and all my starwars movies I would have gone insane!!!!! Not a joke. We drove through lots of different states and I took lots of pictures, but since my dad took the camera back to france to take pictures of the church there will be no pictures on here till at least the end of April.Sorry, but kinda not my fault, though. Any way it was klinda cool to see all the different states, but after a while the highway all looks the same. When we drove thru some of the Southern states they still had up
confederate flags, which , personally, I think is a little wierd since the Civil War ended in 1865!!! Anyway it was a really long drive, but I was so excited when we finally got to Pensacola. Unfortunately it was dark, and then we got lost for about an hour trying to find the condo that we had rented for 1 month. I watched the Choristes, and was really tired of being in the car. Who wouldn't be after driving in the car for 4 days?

Shopping and Restuarants!!!!!

the day after we arrived we went shopping and I gots all kinds of new clothes. I was very happy! I got like $100 worth of stuff for like $32:94. it was so totally rad!! Then we went back to the same store the day after and i tried on like 30 other shirts, but I only bought 1. I love shopping over here. they have such awesome sales. We also went shopping yesterday and I got 3 pairs of earrings, and 2 movies. One of those movies was Love Comes Softly 3. They had the 4 too, but I am gonna wait till the price drops to buy it. You people back home in France would never believe all the food that they serve in Restuarants! There is tons of it! Josh at a whole 1lb lobster plus the stuffing and potatoes at this really neat restuarant called the chwoder pot4. I learned how to eat a lobster, but since I don't eat lobster, it wasn't very helpful. Then we ate at an all you can eat buffet last night. It was really awesome! I don't think that I am gonna do that again soon. There's just too much food over here!!!

Flying out of charles du Gaulle

I hate flying. wait, that is an understatement. i abhor flying. If man were meant to fly, God would have given him wings, just like Archemedes in the sword and the stone says. Any way, our flight was scheduled to leave at 10:40 a.m. We had to be there 3 hours early to go through airport security for which everyone is thankful(the security, not the 3 hours early). We got up at like 5:30 in the morning. For those of you who know me well, you will know that I hated that! I hate the morning!I am getting off track though! Anyway, we some how managed to get there 4 hours ahead of time. We got our luggage checked in in record time, and even though our baggages were over the regulated rate they still didn't charge us any thing extra. Thank you nice airport lady! After we ate a quick breakfast at the airport Mcdonalds. They had really good Egg Mcmufins! Then we went through the metal detector, and I didn't beep, even though I had braces! I was very happy about that! Cuz if you beep they frisk you, and I hate that! Good grief I'm starting to sound like Slimane! Unfortunately, my carryon bags with all my books and all my movies beeped and had to be opened and emptied for the security guards. that was annoying. you'll never believe why I beeped though. I had 3 rolls of wheat pennies in the very bottom of my bag. What a pain! There were books all over the place! When we got to the other side, my dad went to buy some chocolate at the duty free stores, and I watched the bags. then it was my turn to go. i got a comic book to read during the flight. It was a Mickey Parade. I am going to give it to John on wednesday. Well we got on the plane , and the stewardess was a real grump. She should have been fired! There were really no good movies during the flight, so I read my book, Kansas Brides. We arrived at JFK about 40 minutes ahead of time due to some tailwinds. It took forever for all of our baggage to get off the conveyor belt. we were able to catch an earluer bus to New Haven, and we arrived at my granparents house about 2 and a half hours before we were scheduled to. We ate delicious American pizza! I was so happy to see my mom and Johnny. Johnny has been making everyone listen to a country western cdfor the past 2 months and he sings like all 14 songs everytime we get in the car to go somewhere. It is so funny!
He goes" I wish I was, a teddy bear not livin or luvin or goin away! I wish I was a teddy bear, and i'm a wishin that I hadn't fallin in luv with youuuu". He is so cute. I was very tired at the end of that day, and I still have a little jet lag. Not cool.
