School

Hey Everybody! School has finally started and I really like my new school, which is really my old school if you think about it cuz I 've done the video classes! Wow! How confusing! Anyway, the only bad things that have happened so far is my getting lost three times, getting yelled at by some lady for using the wrong stair case(I mean, honestly, if you don't want the student body to use those particular stairs, out up a sign or something!), and getting pudding all over my hands in the cafeteria(Long story don't ask). I like all my teachers except my typing teacher, she really scares me, and my home ec teacher, she has these manly, hairy, arms! I mean like MANLY and really HAIRY! She told us that she arranges her clothes in the closet by color "just like the rainbow". Seriously, the woman is a little COD ( compulsive obsessive disorder). It is really a cool school, and I am making great social progress! The weather is atrociously hot. It was 105F today and we were out doing door to door visitation! I don't think I sweated that much in a long time! It was gross. On top of that, [people had their sprinkler systems running and what I wanted most in the world at that particular moment was to run thru those sprinklers! But., I didn't! When one is a senior, one must set a good example for the little kids, lol. Good grief, I sound so old. Well, I have to go iron my skirt for tomorrow! Miss you all muchly, and if you have time drop me a line and I 'll get back to you ASAP!

More Miscellaneous in my Life

Hiya Peoples! Ok I klnow that that is bad grammar but it is soo much fun to say! ANyway, I went to auditions to join the PCA choir, and to my great relief, I was accepted! I am soo happy!! On the downside, they want me to sing alto, and I prefer soprano, but I am just happy that I am in! Afterwards I decided to give all my closets and draws( or drawers call it what you want) and found this articel that I meant to put up on my blog months ago when we arrived in the states. Remember when I told you I went out to a seafood restuarant, I found this funny article on how to eat a lobster on the menu. I found the article and now I am putting it up for your reading pleasure. BTW, I don't eat lobster, i think pulling the shell off a dead animal is disgusting!!!!

HOW TO EAT LOBSTER
Having lobster for the first time? Want to impress your date with your impeccable table manners? Or, just want to save that nice shirt form getting water splattered? Here at the __________ ( I won't tell you the name of the restuarant. I only do publicity for people that I know!) we aim to make you look good during and after eating lobster! Read On!!
1. Put on the Bib.
Water can squirt when you least expect it. Plus, you'll look and feel like a kid again!
2. Twist off the claws.
Hint: the claws are those big sharp pointy things.
3. Crack open each claw and knuckle(the lobster's not yours)
Use the provided nutcracker or pliers, not a rock or your shoes, and especially not any nail clippers you might have in your purse(if you are a woman)
4. Separate the tail for the body and break off the tail flippers
You'll find a tasty morsel of meat in each flipper
5. Insert your fork into the tail and push the tail meat out in one piece
Be sure to remove the black vein that runs through thte length of the tqil meat before eating(G.B. note: EWWWWWWW!!!)
6. Separate the shell 9of the body form the underside by pulling them apart.
Discard the green substance called the tomalley.(G.B.note: EWWWWWW!!!!!!)
7. Crack the body in half.
Grab the underside of the body in both hands with the small walking legs on either sid. Lobster meat lies in the four pockets or joints where the small walking legs attach to the body. The walking legs also contain excellent meat you can remove by biting theleg and sqeezing the meat out with your teeth(G.B. note: How brutal!)
8. Use the wet napkins to clean up. (Clean yourself up, not the table.
Busers clean the tables, so you don't have to!).
9. Savor
Throughout the meal, take the time to appreciate. You'll be expirencing one of life's finest dining pleasures. ( G.B.And causing the brutal death and disection of a crustacean.)

I couldn't believe it!!!

I was soo happy! Remeber when I told you that the play that I wrote with my friend Emily was chosen for our team to perform, well there is more! We won an honorable mention for it too. I was soo thrilled! It really encouraged me for my future career(journalism), that I can write something that won an honorable mention!! I was really really happy!!!!

Our Teachers

One night, all of the teacher, except Miss Rogers, who was at a wedding, put on a cool play for us!

Mr. Burke

Miss Rogers

Miss Bates

Miss Autry
Without our teahcers all of the really cool things that we learned would not have been possible!

Making our set

Everyone who worked on the set except for Mike and Kat who helped us do the pillars!Without Kats help, they would have been all different sizes!

Tada!!!

Putting up the curtains for th final touch!

It is finally finished!!!!

Mr. Stautz and Mr.Holler were our teachers for scenic design and they helped us make our set.
As a scenic desiner, we had to come up with a set for our team play. Heather, Mike, and I were the scenic designer for our team. It was a lot of work. When we originally fot the flat, I thought that it was konda small. That was before we had to paint the whole thing! Talk about a mess! It was a lot of fun though! I don't think that I will be paintintg for fyun for a long time though! Those stupid pillars, which seemed so coolwhen on paper, were a real pain in the bu, I mean neck to get all the shadow effects on!!!

Chillin'

We crammed 32 or 33 people into an elevator in the Mac Kenzie building. ti was a tight sqeeze, but the elevator did go up even though it said that it would only take 16 passengers. who woulda guessed! Of course, I still recommend that you follow the rules and only put 16 people in a 16 people elevator.

Playing mini golf with Elizabeth!

Tristen made me a really cute Plankton(you know, form Spoge bob). She also made a baloon of me as a mermaid.Which I still have!

Gabe and Tasha playing air hockey.

Trying to look smart at the planatarium.
We were really busy all day long so when we had a break, we went a little, well, nuts. But you can't say that we didn't have lots of fun! One Saterday, they said that we had to stay in our dorms to let the councelors rest, so Tristen made everyone baloon swords(she twists baloons for a hobby), and we ran through all nine floors screaming and waking people up. It was loads of fun. Oh, if you live in Pen state, you can call Tristen to come twist Baloons for your next birthday party. She will twist for and Hour for only $35! Don't quote me in case I got some info wrong! See Tristen, I put in a plug for your business!

Costumes!

Me and my "slave" in our lovely costumes! We lost the regular sheet for me so I was wearing a fitted sheet, which is why my costume looks lumpy!

Naaman in his bandages with his servant.

The whole cast of Ruth in our "gorgeous" Bible costumes.

Ruth, Boaz, and Aarad, Boaz's servant! Aren't they the happy couple!

I know that this was a strange choice of picture, but it was the only close up that shows my whole dress! Besides Mike is my brother!
TO me, being a girl of cours, half the fun of Drama is the awesome costumes that you get to wear. SOme of the other theartical productions that I was in had costumes that were a total flop like the foam spice cake ones that I am trying really hard to forget! In our team plays we had to make our own costimes out of bedsheets. Joel and Emily were our COstume and makeup designers, and to everyone's surprise, especially their's , the costume that they made won first prize in the awards ceremony!

Rehearsals

ME and Mike going through our first scene where we are having a rather heated discusion!

All of the cast minus Joel. I was told that I look like I am a hobbit in this picture, but I hope that that is not true!

Naaman yelling at his family!

Me with my dad and bro. I always wanted a big brother so that worked out great!

I felt that I should put up at least one picture of the reader's theatre so here it is. I hope that it si not one of the blurry ones!
While we were at camp, we put on two big plays; a team play and Ruth( or reader's theatre for some). We put in hours and hours of rehearsals. It was actually a lot of fun, even though some of us were really tired of Ruth by the time that it was over(be honest, you know that you were!). I personally like the team plays the best. During the first week of camp, we had to write a play. Our team was assigned the story of Naaman, the man in the Bible who had leprosy. Anyway, Emily and I teamed up and we wrote our play and to my surprise (and delight) our play was chosen by Mr. Burke (who taught ua how to write scripts). Thank you Mr. Burke!!! In the play, we each had several jobs. In my case I was the "head scenic designer" and I wass an actor as well. I got to be Naaman's daughter, Jasmine. Jake was Naaman. It was really weird cuz I had to hug him in the play and we just couldn't get the hug right. By the way, when I originally wrote the play there was NO hugging.Heather was my Mom. And Mike was my brother. Joel and Emily were our servants. That part was fun, lol. EMily was not thrilled with her part, but she was able to put that behind her and she made a great slave!!!

My Speech and Drama Pals!!

Molly and Amber

Jake, Jonathan, and Joel

A lot of us girl with our favorite counselor, Jess. She is the one in Pink! We love you Jess!!!

Lucas, Ian, and Ben

This is the team that I was on. We are the Weepers! We even had this really great cheer(which I have no intention of ever doing again for any one in person!)

I am putting up lots of Pics of all the great people that I meet at camp! If you are not in these pictures, please don't be offended! Keep in mind that there were a lot of people there and that I can't get a picture of every single person up on my blog! Of course, I did try to get as many people as possible up here. I will never forget all the fun that we had together!

Make up with Mr. Burke

THis is what I will allegedly look like as an old person! I hope that I never ever look like this!!!!!

This is of Jake and Joel as old people. Joel wanted to be a caucasian old man so that is why he is really pale!

The next picture is of me as Queen Gracidalla of the Naboo. I wanted to be Queen Amidala, but Mr. Burke said that we didn't want to support Hollywood, so I had to change the name to Gracidalla! LOL!!!

The last picture is of Tristen and Emily who were my BEST FRIENDS FOREVER at camp!!!!!

When I was at speech and drama camp I had soo much fun. These are pictures of what we did in our class with Mr. Burke, who is in charge of costumes and make up here at the college. He had us do one session where we put on old age make up and one where we were allowed to do whatever we wanted to do. It was loads of fun. In another session with Mr. Burke, we learned how to make costumes out of our bed sheets which we did for a play.Unfortunately, we were too busy to get pics of that! I really enjoyed learning all kinds of different techniques! I learned how I could change the shape of my face or put on fake blood!!! Mr. Burke even told me how to make stage blood!

There has been so much going on here thta I hardly know where to start. Sorry that I haven't updated in soo long, it is just that I have been really busy. Tuesday, we all went to the four winds(which is the dining hall of the college) and the entire campus church ate dinner together. The we all went tothe sports center where two guys from our youth group preached messages(Andrew and AJ). I will put up a picture of that soon, but I need to get Meagan to e mail it to me first. Then we all did sports for a while downstairs. I even ice skated. I am tel;ling you, hanging out with all htese sporty people is making me more sporty too. I even walked all the way down the street and back two days in a row. Anyway, on the fourth of July, Meagan's family and mine went to the fire works in milton. We gave out water bottles with the name of the campus church and a tract on them. We were able to give out fifty bottles. then we waited for two hours and saw about ten menutes of fireworks. Mom says that next year we will go to the Seville square with everyone else. On Friday, the entire youth group went to t camp o' the pines. Their water slides are amazing !!! Saterday, I got up at 4:50 am to give out water to the people that were going to the five k race. It was ok. I was glad that four people from the youth group placed in the top five.(Leticia, Christina, Andrew, and AJ). I did splash Josh as he walked by. Then that night I threw a party for my friend Leticia who is going to Brazil for a month and a half. It was soo much fun. We had a delish chocolate fondue (courtesy of my mother). I do not want fondue for a long time again!!! And in about an hour and a half, I am going to speach and drama camp. I am soooo excited. I will post about that when I get out of camp. Her is a link o see what the college looks like

It was the greatest !!!!!

For the past two nights I have had the most fun ever. I have been over at the sports center with the other teens from my church and we have been doing all kinds of cool games and snacking and talking. We bolwed, played mini golf, and played this game caled walleyball(which is like volleyball, except that you bounce the ball off of the walls). I do not like walleyball. #1 I really stink at the game. #2 It really hurts my wrist to smack the ball correctly. #3 I am scared to be clunked by the ball. It was a lot of fun to hang out with the other teens. I am finally starting to feel like I am being accepted here. It is a really great. Next week, I am going to an orientation on becoming a candy striper(a volunteer in the hospital). I really want to work there because it seems that donating my time to the hospital will be areally worthwhile project that will help others. Gotta go! Happy official beginning of the summer!!!

My way cool day at the beach

Yesterday, I went to the beach. It was a lot of fun. I even went in the water this time because it was so much warmer than it used to be. On the downside, I got stung by a jellyfish and I got a pretty bad burn all over. I even performed a public service by telling the lifeguard where a drownding man went down. Ok, so what if the guy was made of plastic and it was a training excersise for life guards in training. It was a cool day at the beach, and the milkshake I got on the way home was pretty cool too, lol.

Truth Alive

Truth ALive (which is like vacation Bible School) has been so much fun.We have played loads of cool games and had great snacks, lol. In the beginning I really didn't want to go, but I am happy that I went. All week long I have been working towards the goal of memorizing more Bible verses than anyone else! ANd I did! It took 155 verses, and a lot of hard work. I won first place in the Bible memorization!!! I was so happy. I am the first girl to have ever won this contest! ANd what is even cooler is that I also won the grand prize for the person with the most points all week that I had no idea about. It was a real surprise to me.Apparently everyone expected this guy named Dusty to win(he wins every year), so the prizes were kindageared toward boys(which is kinda sexist if you ask me!!!)FOr the verses I memorized I recieved a baseball cap, and for having the most points got a nice Bible that all the evangelists signed and with a note from Pastor Kramer inside(he is the Youth Pastor). It was a lot of fun, and now I am sad that truth alive is over.Snif. Oh well. I have to go get ready to go to the beach now. Adios Muchachos.

Naval aviation Museum

Today, my family and I minus my Dad, cuz he is back in France, went to Perdido Key's naval aviation museum, which is actually on the navy base there. It is about a half an hour away from my house. With us was Horace, who is a friend of Josh's. It is a really cool museum, especially for the great factor that it is FREE(if it's free, it's for me, right John?). Anyway, it is a really neat museum. There are a lot of planes hanging form the museum roof, and there is an exhibit in which you can climb in all kinds of cockpits from helicopters and planes. We saw an exhibit on the space program, which I really liked, and we walked thru a imitation village of the wwII era. It was really neat. Then we drove to this playground(I didn;t wanto to go, but hought that it would be fun for the boys). The neat thing about this playground was that it had a mist machine. I got pretty wet. I am really tired now so that it is for tonight.

National Treasure 2 !!!

I cannot believe that they are making a National Treasure 2! I relly enjoyed the first one( I really love History, it is my favorite class ). It is going to be about Abe Lincoln's death.I personally think it is a bit of a gruesome thing to have a movie about, but aparently hollywood thinkd that it will work . I hope that it will be a cool movie cuz if it is not, it will kinda reflect poorly on the first movie, like Lilo and stitch 2. I also found the official poster for high School Musical 2( which I sooo cannot wiat to see!The picsa are form the first movie, and the guy in the tux is onme of the actors at the movie premier.

Which Star Wars Characters I am

ok, so I got really bored, and I took some personality quizzes to see whck star wars people I am. It was kinda fun!
Quiz 1
Openess
High scorers tend to be original, creative, curious, complex; Low scorers tend to be conventional, down to earth, narrow interests, uncreative.
Your percentile: 88% You enjoy having novel experiences and seeing things in new ways.Yoda -- This wise, philosophical, and thoughtful Jedi master challenges the establishment, encouraging his pupils to unlearn what they have learned and see the world in novel, creative ways.
Organization
High scorers tend to be reliable, well-organized, self-disciplined, careful; Low scorers tend to be disorganized.
Your percentile: 35% You tend to do things somewhat haphazardly.Admiral Ozzel -- A generally conscientious soldier who is susceptible to occasional lapses & blunders, such as the mistake he made at the beginning of the imperial assault on the rebel base at Hoth.
Extraversion
High scorers tend to be sociable, friendly, fun loving, talkative; Low scorers tend to be introverted, reserved, inhibited, quiet.
Your percentile: 53% You are neither particularly social or reserved.Ewoks -- A species with extraverted and introverted tendencies. On one hand they are a shy, timid, and reclusive species. On the other hand, they are very sociable, living in groups, placing great emphasis of interpersonal relations.
Agreeableness
High scorers tend to be good natured, sympathetic, forgiving, courteous; Low scorers tend to be critical, rude, harsh, callous.
Your percentile: 69% You tend to consider the feelings of others.Qui-Gon Jinn -- This Jedi master is loyal, sensitive, and sympathetic.
Quiz 2
You are Padme You try to be a good person, but your boyfriend doesn't.(Like I have one?)At least you look great.

Quiz 3
Yoda
Dynamite in a small package, and long-lasting, like the Energizer bunny. While you are wise and calm, you are able to call on your killer instincts . Some may call you a ‘sleeper’. With such great power comes some arrogance, but you are quick to return to humility and fix your mistakes. You have certainly left your mark on the world, in good ways, and it was kinda sad to see you go. But no need to worry, you have gained immortality even though you can’t wield your toothpick of a lightsabre anymore.

Quiz 4
You scored 50% airiness, 36% squishiness, and 47% edginess!
Han Solo is down-to-earth and improvisational, cool-headed and cynical. Appeals to emotion rarely sway him, but as he matured throughout the saga, he let his less-well-developed compassionate side show occasionally.
Personality quizzes are kinda stupid, but if you can't think of anything else to do, by all means go ahead and do 'em!
Solo is, in a word, cool.
I don't think these quizzes were too accurate, because I didn't get the same results on all of them. Still, I wouldn't mind being any of these, especially Padme or Yoda. He is cool. I think that I could really connect with Yoda. We are both short! I everyone knows that I just think that Han Solo is just the greatest smuggler that Star Wars ever had!!!!!

I am going to camp!!!!!!!!

I am so excited because on July 9th I will be going to speach and drama camp for 2 weeks. It is gonna be sooo cool! I can hardly wait.

The article says that Speach/drama camp focuses on the basics of performance techniques, and the proper use of public speaking. Each day begins with vocal production exercises and continues with study in performance areas from poetry to readers theater and in technical aspects from costume design to sound. Students will be exposed to production practices and the backstage processes involved in a production.
Participants are encouraged to bring one or two memorized readings for workshops with the instructional staff. Auditions for the play and readers theaters will be held on the camp’s opening day.
Something ExtraDuring the course of the two-week camp, the students will prepare a short religious play which will be performed on July 20, along with several readers theaters, staged in the College’s Experimental Theater. Parents are invited to dinner and the Catch the Spirit presentation prior to the evening performances.
Instructional StaffSpeech/Drama Camp will feature experienced PCC speech faculty. Each faculty member holds a degree in speech or theater and teaches in the Speech Department of PCC. You’ll gain practical, hands-on experience from these faculty in areas such as oral interpretation, acting, costuming and make-up, storytelling, and scenic design.

Where I go to church

Pastor Jackson
Pastor Jackson, Mrs. Jackson, David, Regan , and I can't remeber the other litlle girl's name.
The crowne center
different angle of the crowne center
The entrance gate

Usually, church is held in the crowne center, where all of these pictures are taken. It is a huge room. There are soo many people that we have to watch Pastor Jackson on a huge screen or else the pople in the back and on the balcony will not be able to see him. The crowne center itself is enormous. WHen you walk in for ther first time it just amazes you. You look up three stories at all the stained glass(which is incidentally, how people know if you are visiting for the first time).AMyway, it si a really cool place to go to church, and I like it a lot, except for the dorky choir robes that we have to wear in the choir, and that you cannot sit with your legs crossed if you are in the choir , Which is really hard if you are short because me feet don't quite touch the floor and my Bible keeps sliding off my lap and it is really hard to take notes. Other than that, it is a really cool place to go to church. Pastor Jackson is a really great preacher. He puts things in a way that everyone can understand. His vision for the campus church is really , well , big. Last night he had the whole church kneeling at the altars to pray for the Campus Church and our country. It was really amazing. I never have been in a church where something like that has been done, but it should be done more often!!!!
